In collaboration with the Institute for Traffic Accident Investigators

A PHOTOGRAPHIC COURSE FOR FORENSIC COLLISION INVESTIGATORS AND MEMBERS OF ITAI

This course will teach candidates what they need to know, to effectively capture photographs of scenes, damage and components, and also how to effectively use this media in reports and presentations. It will also equip them to be able to confidently explain photographic principles and critically analyse others imagery, when giving evidence. Understanding the impact of the current climate (Covid-19) on training, the course is being designed and written so that it can be delivered in one of two ways, either face to face or on-line. As the student, the choice will be yours as to which avenue you take, the content will be the same, the assessment and examination phase will be the same.

Face To Face Course

See Covid 19 Arrangements

The face to face course can be delivered at Cameracal’s studio, where we can accommodate up to 6 students at a time and is one week (5 days) in duration, which will include practical sessions, lunch and refreshments.

Online Course

The on-line course will run over 6 weeks, with on-line training content and a weekly tutorial

It will be hosted on teachable.com. This has the added benefit of being accessible from mobile devices, as an app, so if you’re out at a scene and can’t remember how to do something, you can log on and quickly refresh yourself.

In either case, the course is broken down into modules and at the conclusion of each there is an on-line assessment. At the end of the course there are a number of assignments to complete within 8 weeks. Successful students will be provided with a time limited pass certificate, which will also detail the areas covered.

All training materials will be provided and the training will be provided by Anthony and his team.

The Team

Our experience covers photographic training, retail, systems calibration, forensic photography, landscape photography, drones, 360 degree imagery, virtual tours, digital arts and the Adobe products previously mentioned, including Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe Acrobat DC, as well as Apple’s iMovie, Keynote and Insta360 Studio, to name but a few. Some of our trainers also have considerable experience as Collision Investigators and thus preparing reports and photographing scenes and vehicles. The course will also incorporate ITAI’s Good Practice guidelines as well as ISO requirements relating to photography.
